This is my painting for the *da-agon contest, a painting based on the movie "The Patriot". This piece was reffed straight from the movie all painted in painter 8 and photoshop CS with a wacom 8x6. Took me a few weeks to get it done being how my priorities have been thrashed about this month.

I hope my dedication to the completion of this piece shows through, it was a daunting task.

And no, as DA etiquette follows this will not be available for print. Ever.


**Everyone s saying the faces in the background are too blurry, well.. this is exactly how it looked in the movie, it was a camera focus effect. :shrug:

This is awesome man :D The colouration of the faces and of the actual forms is great, matches the lightsource perfectly. A few areas that are a little bit paintish, but hey, I guess you get that when it is in fact painting. ;)

Its been great to see this completely develop from nothing. Thank you for taking us into your process. It really looks like a photo EXCEPT for the background men. Their faces are out of focus while their coats and shadows are in focus.. I love the rendering of the buttons on the foreground figure.. thats wild man.. great job overall.
